Frequently Asked Questions
How can an exercise help me or my organisation?
Exercises are widely recognised as being integral to training and preparing staff to perform functions in real emergencies. An exercise is likely to be most useful where there is a need to practise an existing skill, to build motivation, or to assess a plan, system or technique.
Will I be able to oversee the conduct of any exercise?
Your organisation is the major stakeholder in any enterprise of this type. As facilitator, ESMC will work closely with you and together we will determine the aim, outcomes and scope of the exercise. Together we will develop the project through planning and progress meetings.
Will my organisation’s productivity be affected by dedicating staff to an exercise?
ESMC will ensure that any exercise is both effective and efficient. The participation of key stakeholders is critical. Activities can be managed to present the least disruption to productivity and workplace routines.
Will sensitive aspects of my organisation be kept confidential?
ESMC is dedicated to providing a professional service and is both familiar and comfortable with confidentiality regimes. Data and other material gathered to provide this service is protected and is only retained with your permission. Confidentiality agreements will be honoured.
Which style of exercise will best suit my needs?
ESMC is able to build progressive exercise programs or use different styles. The choice of exercise style is only made after the aim, objectives and scope are determined.
Do I need to provide a venue and other resources to conduct an exercise?
There are benefits in exercising both on and off the workplace. If a suitable venue and resources are available for an onsite exercise they should be utilised. For offsite exercises ESMC will provide a choice of options.
